We have worked diligently the past few weeks and we have finished our Hero Web Pages. A few finishing touches are being made to our movies (technology bugs) and we will submit them also. A big thank you to all our international friends for their willingness to share about themselves. On May 20th, many of the countries will meet in a video conference. We will be there! Keep posted for pictures of the big video event! Students are posting to their pages to the right about their experiences so far. Read their reflections and leave a comment. They are always thrilled to “get mail”.
Who is your Hero? Where are you at on your project? Has anything fun or exciting happened while you have been working on it? Have you learned new things about your hero? Parents and friends, if you would like to comment and encourage us, we welcome you.
Welcome! Please let us know if you visit us!!
This week we have been discussing the meaning of a Hero. We have watched award winning movies about Heroes and how to make them. We also looked at many Hero Webpages and then a tutorial on how to make them. It is hard to choose which project to work on. The art gallery is awesome and is another great choice. We have to decide by next week who our Hero will be and which project we will use to share our Hero with the world. If you would like to see the examples go to www.myhero.com and enjoy. Don’t forget to bring your tissue; they are amazing and touching. Share with us below who the Hero in your life is.
The pictures are part of the classroom surveys that we are getting so far. They have been moved to our tab above the reads ”My Hero Project” You can read the surveys as they come from the post below. What fun to learn about new friends and new places. One of our friends’ village has only 700 people living there. That’s 200 less than our school population! Now we want to visit the Ukraine. We hope you enjoy watching our journey around the world. Our packages about Ontario and California are ready to mail and are working on our next phase. We are discussing “What is a Hero?’… Can you help us out? What do you think makes a person a hero?
If you look on the comments below you will see the information that the other countries in our learning circle are sending us. This way we can share what we learn with all of you. This is an amazing opportunity to share cultures and learning with friends around the world.
If you have read the book, we would like to hear from you. We are discussing a scene from the book and will be posting our comments on the post below. We want to hear your opinions also. Write a comment and let us know what you think. We will going to see the movie next weekend together when we finish the book. Has anyone read the whole series of the Percy Jackson and the Olympians? Have you seen the movie? Were you disappointed? Did you love it? Let’s get some dialogue going here online!
